Ayurvedic
Ayurveda, or the "science of life," is an ancient tradition originating in India that aims to promote balance of body and mind. Based on the five elements and the doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha), this approach recognizes the uniqueness of each individual and offers treatments tailored to their constitution.
Our rituals include Abhyanga, a hot oil massage, Garshana, a stimulating dry body treatment, and Shiro-Abhyanga, a deeply soothing ritual for the scalp, head and shoulders.

Garshana is a traditional Ayurvedic dry massage ritual designed to stimulate the body and revitalize Kapha energy. Vata
(Air and Ether)
Vata represents the energy of movement, creativity, communication, and change. People with a dominant Vata constitution are often imaginative, intuitive, dynamic, and quick-witted. They generally have a slender build, drier skin, and fluctuating energy levels.
When in balance, Vata promotes inspiration, flexibility, and vitality.
Signs of a Vata imbalance:
• Anxiety and worry
• Agitation and nervousness
• Difficulty sleeping
• Dry skin
• Gas, bloating or constipation
• Difficulty concentrating
• Rapid or intrusive thoughts
• Fatigue or exhaustion
• Feeling scattered or ungrounded
• Sensitivity to cold and wind
• Symptoms often associated with ADHD, such as distractibility, impulsivity, and difficulty maintaining attention
Vata constitutions particularly benefit from warmth, routine, a nourishing diet, and care that promotes grounding and calming of the nervous system.
Abhyanga is one of the most renowned Ayurvedic treatments for balancing Vata. Performed with warm oil, this enveloping massage helps nourish the tissues, promotes relaxation, and provides a profound sense of stability and grounding.
Kapha
(Earth and Water)
Kapha represents the energy of stability, nourishment, and endurance. People with a Kapha constitution are often calm, loyal, patient, and resilient. They generally have a more robust constitution, stable energy, and a deeply caring nature.
When in balance, Kapha promotes strength, immunity, and a deep sense of calm.
Signs of a Kapha imbalance:
• Lack of motivation or drive
• Slowness, lethargy, or mental fog
• Feeling of physical or emotional stagnation
• Excessive sleep
• Water retention
• Weight gain or difficulty losing weight
• Congestion and excess mucus
• Slow digestion
• Difficulty letting go
• Depressed mood or feeling of heaviness
• Frequent cravings for comforting and sweet foods
Kapha constitutions particularly benefit from movement, stimulation, warmth, and care that promotes circulation and vitality.
Abhyanga massage with warming and stimulating oils, such as sesame infused with ginger, rosemary, or eucalyptus, can be particularly beneficial. Garshana, a dry body brushing performed with raw silk gloves, is also recommended to support circulation, stimulate the lymphatic system, and help relieve feelings of heaviness and stagnation.
Pitta
(Fire and Water)
Pitta represents the energy of transformation, metabolism, and ambition. People with a Pitta constitution are often intelligent, organized, passionate, and determined. They generally possess efficient digestion, a higher body temperature, and a sharp mind.
When in balance, Pitta promotes confidence, mental clarity, and the ability to act.
Signs of a Pitta imbalance:
• Irritability and impatience
• Anger or frustration
• Perfectionism
• Professional exhaustion (burnout)
• Inflammation
• Gastric reflux or heartburn
• Excessive feeling of heat or heavy sweating
• Redness, skin sensitivity or acne
• Headaches
• Difficulty relaxing or slowing down
• Critical thinking or a tendency to judge
• Excessive competitiveness
Pitta constitutions generally benefit from coolness, gentleness, and practices that promote calmness and balance of the nervous system.
While Abhyanga can be adapted to all doshas, we often favor cooler oils and gentler techniques for Pitta to soothe excess heat. Depending on your constitution and needs, a personalized therapeutic massage may sometimes be a more suitable option than a more stimulating treatment.
